Suggest a better description1. Preheat oven to 350. With the end of a stick of butter, grease a glass baking dish dish roughly 9x9 or 9x13.
2. Combine flour, 1/2 cup of the sugar, baking power, salt into a food processor and pulse to combine. Add butter and egg yolk, then pulse until small to medium crumb. Add egg white and repeat. You can use a pastry blender or fork to cut in butter and eggs if you don't have a food processor.
3. Core and cut straw berries into 8ths. Thoroughly toss/coat strawberries with remaining 1/4 cup sugar and cornstarch.
4. Place roughly 2/3 of crumb mixture in bottom of baking sheet and press down to form a crust - doesn't have to be super firms, just brought together. Evenly spread strawberries over crust. Sprinkle remaining crumb mixture over top of strawberries. To get some larger bits, just press together into ball in your hand and break apart again.
5. Bake until crumbs start to brown and crisp on top - 30-45 minutes depending dish size. Allow to cool/set for 20-30 minutes before cutting.
