A grilled stuffed burger that so good you'll want to eat two.
Form burgers:
Combine hamburger meat, sauces, whiskey, garlic, salt and pepper in a bowl. Massage ingredients throughly. Lay out wax paper on a cookie sheet. Form 6 identical meat balls. Form each into a round and very flat patty.
Stuff burgers:
Sprinkle cheese of choice. I like lots of cheese so I mound it up a bit. Sprinkle minced red onion. (Sometimes I add real bacon bits as well or switch out red onion with thin slices of green onion. You can add just about anything you like if it's small enough.)
Start grill now if you use a charcoal grill like me.
Combine burgers:
Take formed burger without stuffing and place over stuffed patty. Press edges together all around to seal well. Be careful not to be too rough. There's a lot of moisture in the meat, so it's delicate. Sprinkle one side of burger with Steak Seasoning. Fold over empty side of wax paper and press patties underneath lightly to stick a bit. Carefully flip wax papered burgers over and pull back wax paper. Sprinkle with Steak Seasoning. Using thumb, press circle into center of burger to leave a round impression. Do not break hamburger meat into stuffing.
Place tray of burgers in the freezer for 15 minutes to harden them up a bit. Very important!
Grill burgers as desired.
Be creative! Try mixing picante sauce into the hamburger meat. There are so many options! Even adding a tablespoon of Olive Oil Mayonnaise adds a lot of moistness to a burger. The thumbprint in a burger helps it cook flatter and not plump up so much.
