round sugar cookies usually made for the holidays
cream the butter, sugar, and vanilla together with a mixer
slowly add the eggs and flour to the mixture
put the dough in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to chill
roll into quarter sized balls and place on cookie sheet
smash the dough balls with the bottom of a water glass dipped in powdered sugar to keep the dough from sticking to the bottom of the glass
you may add sprinkles, red hots, nuts, etc to the top of the cookies at this point.
bake in oven at 350F for 8-10 minutes
let cool before removing from cookie sheet
