This is similar to the cookies called Snickerdoodle.
Cream shortening and add sugar gradually. Beat until fluffy.
Add egg and milk. Beat well.
Combine dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Beat well.
Stir in vanilla.
Chill dough for 1 hour.
Roll out dough and cut with cookie cutter.
Bake at 375 degrees for 6-8 minutes.
Store in airtight container with waxed paper in-between.
