Coarsely chop the hazelnuts in a food processor. Add the sun-dried tomatoes and garlic and process until fairly smooth. Taste the oil from the sun-dried tomatoes. If you find the taste pleasing, you may use it in the next step. Add the basil and turn the machine on. Slowly drizzle either the reserved oil or extra virgin olive oil through the feed tube until a thick but spreadable paste is formed. Taste and add salt and pepper as desired. The amount of oil you need will vary depending on the sun-dried tomatoes you use.
