The perfect food for big families or students on a strict budget. A new twist on an old favourite. Packed with veggies and a couple special ingredients, this dish is tasty, filling and economical! Below are stove top directions, although chili can also be made in a slow cooker. Simply brown meat, add all ingredients and simmer all day!
Heat oil over medium heat. Add onions, garlic and jalapeno. Toss until they begin to sweat. Add ground turkey, salt , cayenne and cinnamon and allow meat to brown. Add chili seasoning and stir well. Add tomato sauce, kidney beans and water and stir well. Adjust seasonings to taste. Cover, reduce heat to low and allow mixture to simmer for 45 minutes. Add tomato, red pepper, corn and honey. Simmer on low for 15 minutes. Turn off heat and let chili sit at least 15 minutes. Serve warm with handful of tortilla chips crushed on top, or with your favourite side! Enjoy!
