Sift flour, salt, soda, and baking powder together. Add to first mixture.
Add nuts, if desired.
In an 8" x 12" pan, bake 55 minutes at 350 degrees.
Cut into 1" x 3" strips and place on a cookie sheet. Dry in slow oven, 300 degrees for 10 minutes on each side until crispy.
These should be eaten with coffee, milk or other beverage. They are hard.
