Lightly sweet sugar cookie with almond flavor. My grandmothers recipe.
Cream sugar and butter together well. Add egg. Beat until egg is well blended into mixture. Add almond extract. Add flour 1/2 cup at a time and mix well.
If sticky when put into mold, add flour a little at a time.
Use a cookie press to shape individual cookies.
Bake on un-greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375 to 400 degrees Fehrenheit for 6-9 minutes
Remove from cookie sheet immediately.
This recipe requires a cool kitchen or the butter will be too soft to press properly. If the dough looks greasy, the butter is too soft. Do not overwork the dough. Do not use margarine.
