One of my picky sons favorite dishes. The brown sugar makes it slightly sweet and full of flavor.
Preperation:
In a large bowl combine beef, bread crumbs, 1 tablespoon of brown sugar, eggs, onion, bell pepper and eight tablespoons of the spaghetti sauce. When mixture holds firm add basil, oregano, paprika and garlic powder. Pat mixture into a 9x5 ungreased loaf pan. Rub garlic into the top of the meatloaf. In a small bowl mix remaining spaghetti sauce and brown sugar. Pour over the meatloaf coating completely.
Cooking:
Heat oven to 325?. Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour draining excess liquid in pan about 30 minutes through baking.
I prefer to use Prego Tomato, Basil and Garlic spaghetti sauce.
