Mince the onin and garlic ans saute in butter in a saucepan until transparent. Cut the drained sweet potatoes into pieces. Place the sauteed onion and garlic, sweet potatoes and chicken broth in a food processor or blender. Puree until smooth. Return mixture to sauce pan and heat gently. Add light cream, thyme and nutmeg and stir well. Simmer over low heat until steaming. Garnish each serving with a dollop of sour cream, sprinkled with minced jalapenos.
