Suggest a better descriptionWash and dry the sweet potatoes. Bake at 400 degrees for 1 hour, or until the potatoes are soft to the touch. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly. Reduce the oven heat to 350 degrees. While the potatoes are cooking, combine the remaining ingredients in a saucepan; bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes, or until the sauce is slightly thickened. Slice the potatoes 1/2 inch thick and place in a medium casserole, pour the sauce over them, and return to the oven for 15 minutes until hot.
