1. In a casserole dish crush up about half a bag of tortilla chips for the bottom "crust".
2. Cook ground beef and drain.
3. Add Taco seasoning packet and follow directions on packet.
4. Pour ground beef on top of tortilla chip crust.
5. Add corn, black beans, or whatever else tickles your fancy (OPTIONAL).
6. Add a layer of salsa, as thick as you like it.
7. Add a layer of shredded cheese to top.
8. Put in the oven until cheese is melted, about 10 minutes.
I let it sit for about 10 minutes or so after putting the ground beef on top of the tortilla chips to ensure that the tortilla chips soften to form a crust. Another thing you can do is use a higher fat content beef (80%) and not drain all of the fat to help soften up the crust.
