Butter bread, set aside. Melt 1/2 cup butter, saute onions & mushrooms. Grease 13 x 9 casserole. Layer 1/2 bread, mushrooms & onions, sausage, & cheese. Mix eggs, milk, mustards, nutmeg, salt, & pepper. Pour over casserole, cover and refrigerate overnight. Bake uncovered in a 350 degree oven for 1 hour.
