very different rice. you must should try that
first of all take 1/2 cup water and add sugar and tamarind and mix with light hands and set aside.seeds should not be removed.
now boil rice and add salt in water during boiling.
fry onion for 5 minutes.add tomatoes and garlic ,red chilli powder,garam masala 1tblsp,green chillies,salt and cook till tomatoes become paste and oil comes out. now add tamarind and fry on medium heat.saute constantly otherwise tamarind will burn.when oil comes out and tamarind changer its colour a bit goldenish brown remove from heat.
LAYERING;
mix cumin powder and 1 tblsp garam masala powder.
spread one third rice in a pan then spread one third tamarind mixture than sprinkle little bit garam masala than rice and repeat same procedure. now cover with lid and place on stove on low heat for 10 minutes than shake the whole pan so than rice and layering mix together
