Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
Combine jalapeno and preserves.
Split the brie cheese horizontally and place first half cut side up on center of baking tray. Spread half of mixture, sprinkle with half of chopped pecans then top with remaining half cut side down, remainder of spread and remainder of chopped pecans.
Slice baguette on a bias, brush with olive oil and surround brie with sliced bread.
Bake in oven 8-10 minutes until bread is toasted and cheese softens. Let stand 5 minutes and serve.
