These simple French style open face sandwiches have been a regular hit. They're so easy to assemble and inexpensive. They can even be assembled an hour or two beforehand, depending on the ripeness of the pear. Riper pears turn darker quicker. Substitute crumbled blue cheese for the parmesan for a variation on flavor. Assemble and freeze on a sheet pan for future use. When frozen, place in a sealed bag in the freezer. Bake straight from the freezer at 400 for 6-8 minutes or until bubbly.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees
Slice the baguette on a bias into 1/4" thick slices. Spread with a thin layer of the pecan honey butter. Top with a slice of pear. Sprinkle shredded Parmesan cheese over the pear and baguettes and then season with kosher salt, black pepper, dried thyme leaves.
Place tartines in preheated oven for 10 minutes or until the pecan honey butter is bubbly and cheese is melted.
BREAKFAST VARIATION: Spilt the baguette horizontally and spread with Pecan Honey butter. Gently 'scunch' up thinly smoked ham or turkey over top of honey butter. Top with pear slice, season as directed and toast until heated through. Cut into 3" long pieces and serve with a salad for brunch or breakfast.
