Suggest a better descriptionPreheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Sift all dry ingredients together. Cut in the butter. Add the milk or yogurt. This will form a sticky dough, add extra flour if it's too sticky to shape. Roll out and cut with a glass, pat out and cut with a knife, or drop into 12 equal piles (my favourite).
Try adding:
1 cup grated cheese, with garlic and herbs
raisins or currants
using vanilla or strawberry yogurt to make a strawberry shortcake
chocolate chips
nuts
raisins, cranberries, blueberries, or other fruits
chopped apples and cinnamon and nutmeg
lemon zest
maple yogurt and maple syrup instead of sugar
