BROWNIES:
Combine flour and sugar.
In saucepan, combine butter, shortening, coffee or water and cocoa. Stir and heat to boiling. Pour boiling mixture over the flour and sugar.
Add buttermilk, eggs, baking soda, and vanilla. Mix well with electric mixer. Pour into well buttered 17 1/2 by 12-inch jelly roll pan.
Bake at 400 for 20 min. or until tests done in center.
FROSTING:
Combine butter, cocoa and milk and heat to boiling, stirring. Mix in powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth.
Pour warm frosting over brownies right out of the oven. Cool.
