In a large bowl, toss together bread, tomatoes, onion and basil.
In a small bowl, whisk vinegar with oil; pour over bread mixture. Toss well. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serve immediately.
Hint: For a large dinner party, chop all ingredients earlier in the day, keep in separate containers and toss at last minute.
