Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.
Melt chocolate in a double boiler or in the microwave. Combine water, sugar and salt in a medium saucepan and cook over medium-low heat until sugar is dissolved, stirring continuously.
Fold butter into melted chocolate one cube at a time. Add syrup mixture and blend in eggs one at a time.
Pour into a 9-inch springform pan and place in oven in a water bath.
Bake 45 minutes.
When it had cooled, sprinkle it generously with powdered sugar.
