This recipe is for vegan biscuits. You could easily substitute butter and milk, though, if you don't have vegan ingredients.
Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
Mix all the dry ingredients together thoroughly. Cut the margarine into the dry ingredients with a pastry cutter or fork until the mixture resembles coarse meal; don't overmix.
Make a well and pour in the soymilk, then mix with a fork to make a soft dough. Turn out onto a lightly floured board and knead lightly for 5 or 6 turns - no more than 30 seconds. Roll out to 1/2-inch thickness and cut the dough into rounds with a floured cookie cutter.
Place biscuits on an ungreased baking sheet about 3/4 inch apart. Bake for 12-15 minutes.
