1. Blend pinto bean spread ingredients in a food processor until combined and mostly creamy. There should still be a little texture. Taste and adjust ingredients to your liking. Scoop out the bean mixture and place in a bowl for serving.
2. Blend the salsa mixture until combined. There should still be a little texture as well. Taste and adjust ingredients to your liking. Scoop out the salsa and place in another bowl for serving.
3. Lay out all the topping ingredients with the bean spread and salsa. Allow everyone to build their own tostadas. Layer starting with the bean mixture, then the salsa, followed by the avocado, cheese, lettuce and finally the cilantro.
Be careful when walking with your plate! Tostadas tend to fly off onto the floor... a very sad occurrence indeed.
There will be some leftover salsa. The salsa does improve after the flavors have some time to meld.
