Cream together the first four ingredients until fluffy. Add flour. Mix just enough to blend. Spread over a 9x13 pan. Bake at 350 degree oven for 15 minutes. Spread with a generous layer of jam. Sprinkle with nuts which have been combined with 2 tablespoons of sugar and 2 unbeaten egg whites. Bake for 15 additional minutes.. Cool and cut into 1x3 inch strips.
