Mrs. Thompson's 24 hour cabbage Salad
Chop Cabbage, Green Pepper, Onion and Carrots
Dressing:
1 tablespoon of gelatine in 1/4 cup of cold water
Bring to boil sugar, vinegar, celery seed, salt and pepper and stir until sugar is dissolved. Add gelatine and stir.
Add 1 vegetable oil and stir. Pour over vegetables (cabbage etc) and refrigerate for 24 hours.
This will keep for weeks in refridgerator and flavour constantly gets better as it stands.
You can use other vegetables too like: cucumber, radishes, celery - whatever in your fridge.
Great for a party in place of tossed salad
