Suggest a better descriptionLine a pan fitted with a roasting rack with foil. In a large bowl, mix the marinade ingredients. Add the beef cubes, mix well and set aside. In a small bowl, mix the coating ingredients except the walnuts. Sprinkle the walnuts onto a plate. Thread around 5 cubes of beef onto each skewer. thread the cubes tightly together since the beef shrinks as it cooks and may dry out if set too far apart. Use a pastry brush to brush the egg yolk all over the beef. Press the top and bottom sides of each skewer into the crushed walnuts.
Place the skewers onto the rack. Broil about 2 minutes per side until the beef is done and the nuts are golden. Serve with soy sauce for dipping.
(Notes: Soak the wooden skewers in water for at least 20 minutes before threading on the beef cubes and broiling in the oven. this will prevent the skewers from burning. Making these skewers ahead and allowing them to chill will help the walnut coating adhere even better.)
