In a medium bowl, cream the butter and sugar. Stir in vanilla and water. Add the flour and nuts, mixing until blended. Can cover and chill to make cookies later, or bake right away. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Bake for 15-20 minutes. When cookies come out of the oven, give them time to cool and then dust with confectioner's sugar.
