Directions

Recipe by: Jo Merrill Use dairy sour cream for this recipe-not a sour cream substitute. Beat sour cream and egg together; add sugar, flour, salt and vanilla. Mix until smooth. Stir in apples. Place mixture into pie shell and bak in preheated 400 degree oven for 25 minutes. Meanwhile mix topping ingredients until crumbly-- Remove pie from oven and sprinkle the crumb topping over. Bake 20 minutes longer. Formatted & Busted by RecipeLu <recipelu@recipelu.com> Posted to recipelu-digest Volume 01 Number 653 by RecipeLu <recipelu@geocities.com> on Jan 31, 1998

Wonderful! As I was making it I thought it might be to sweet so I added some lemon juice. I also added some pecans to the topping. Very good. Will make again. Thanks for the recipe.

This is the best sour cream apple pie I have EVER had, and my daughter works at Marie Callender's!! I made it deep dish and used 3 medium size Granny Smiths. Super easy - dicing the apples instead of slicing is great! I also chilled it for a couple hours after making which made it easy to slice. Served with whipped cream...yummy!
