Traditional beignets are made from a sweet yeast raised dough that requires time to rise before being cut to shape and fried. This no-yeast recipe uses baking powder for leaving, requires no rising, and makes a thick batter that is spooned into the deep fat much like a fritter.

My 15 year old daughter found this recipe and made it one night. AMAZING. Very simple recipe, easy to make and absolutely delicious. We actually did a Nutella injection to them and it was even better!!!
jimw321Very easy, I didn't have nutmeg so I used cardamom and that was great. Second batch I added pickled jalapenos and some shredded bacon, which made them cook a little slower but still yummy.
homesteadingdoulaYummy!! Everyone loves them
teola_mulhollandThese are so easy. I've even done them without eggs and/or without milk and they're fantastic. Super easy.
