Cheesy meatballs with spaghetti

Ingredients

1 lb lean ground beef (500g)

1 egg lightly beaten

1 cup grated cheese (such as Parmesan)

1 onion finely chopped

1/4 cup basil chopped

1 tbsp olive oil

1 jar tomato, onion & basil chunky sauce

1 lb dried spaghetti (400g)

Basil leaves to serve


Directions

Method 1. Combine meat, egg, cheese, onion and basil. Season and roll into balls. 2. Heat oil in a large non-stick frying pan. Cook half the meatballs for 4-5 mins. Remove and repeat. 3. Return the meatballs to the pan and pour over sauce. Cover, cook over a medium heat for 20 mins until cooked through. 4. Cook spaghetti in a large pan of boiling water, as per packet directions. Drain and place in bowl. Spoon over meatballs and sauce. Serve with basil leaves.

Had fresh lemon basil on hand and everyone enjoyed this using lean GB. Used some block parmesan, also.

Made this last night, everybody loved it! Definitely going to make this recipe again. all I added more was egg I find having two eggs in the mince was easier to keep it all together! But its Simple to prepare and cook 😊
