Chewy Coconut Macaroons

Ingredients

2 1/2 c coconut Shredded

2/3 c Sweetened condensed milk

1 ts Vanilla

1/8 ts Salt

1/3 c Flour


Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350?. Grease an EKCO Bakers Secret Cookie Sheet. 2. Toss coconut with flour and salt. Add sweetened condensed milk and vanilla; mix well. Drop batter by quarter-cupfuls one inch apart onto prepared cookie sheet. 3. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Immediately remove from pan; cool on wire rack. Makes about 18 macaroons. My husband absolutely loved these! They tend to dry out a little as time goes by, so next time I will use the whole can of condensed milk. Will definitely make again!

Yummy with dipped chocolate!

Really lovely macaroons, I added a bit more of the condensed milk to moisten them just a bit more, but other than that, they were good. I'd like to know how to get them to evenly brown though.

And another thing- they do get brown on the bottom. I thought I burned them but they weren't.

Thanks for the recipe! They turned out very good! A good twist to the recipe is adding either orange extract or orange zest.
