Chinese Chicken Drumsticks

These taste similar to the chicken wings at our favourite Chinese restaurant, but in drumstick form.

Ingredients

1/4 cup

3 tablespoons

2 tablespoons

1 clove Halved

1/4 Leek, white part only Cut in big pieces

1/2 teaspoon

1/2 teaspoon Chinese 5 spice Optional

1 tablespoon Soy sauce or molasses


Directions

Roast drumsticks on parchment paper on a cookie sheet at 350F until cooked through but not brown. Mix sauce ingredients in a LARGE pot. Simmer on low for a few minutes until thickened (not boiling!). Put cooked drumsticks in pot with sauce and stir to coat with sauce. Remove garlic pieces and leek pieces. Put drumsticks back on cookie sheet on new parchment and roast at 350F until browned. Serve with rice and green salad.

Tasty. Fairly easy. I kept skin on, seasoned with salt and pepper and baked in oven for 30 min. I did this step earlier in day and finished sauce just before dinner. I kept leeks and roasted with sauce. Served on rice with stir fry broccoli.
