Combine sugar, flour, and cocoa and mix well.
Break eggs, saving whites for meringue.
Add small amount of milk to eggs and add to flour mixture to make paste. Add rest of milk. Add half a can of water from the milk can and mix. Cook over low heat or in a double boiler.
Remove from flame and add vanilla and butter. After mixed together- pour into a pie crust.
For Meringue:
Beat the 6 egg whites until stiff. Add 7 tablespoons of sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Put on pie and brown at 425 degrees. Watch closely to not over brown!
