2 cups (500ml) milk

250 g unsalted butter chopped

300 g dark chocolate roughly chopped

300 ml thickened cream

3 eggs

1 vanilla bean split, seeds scraped

1 3/4 cups (385g) caster sugar

2 3/4 cups (410g) plain flour

1 tablespoon cocoa powder

1 teaspoon baking powder

50 g dark chocolate roughly chopped

300 g unsweetened chestnut puree (see notes)

75 g softened unsalted butter chopped

1 1/3 cups (200g) pure icing sugar sifted
