Classic San Francisco Sourdough Bread

I have looked hi and low for a recipe like this. I am so happy to have found it. Perfect slathered in butter or as a sandwich (grilled is great)

This makes a great sourdough bread! For my taste, I might omit the corn starch baste and instead spritz the loaves with water just before putting them in the oven. I would also increase the temperature to 425 and cook for about thirty minutes to a deep golden brown.
