Combine all but butter and milk. Let stand 15 min.
Pastry
2 cups sifted cake/pastry flour
3/4 tsp salt
1 cup Crisco
4 Tablespoons water
Combine flour, salt, cut in Crisco with pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture is uniform (should be fairly coarse). Sprinkle water, a tablespoon at a time:toss lightly with fork. Work into frim ball; roll out half for botton crust, half for lattice strips.
Preheat oven to 400. Line 9" pie plate with half of pastry; add filling. Dot with butter. Place lattice crust over filling; seal and flute edges. Brush lattice top with milk.
Bake 40-50 min or till crust is golden brown. Cover edge of crust with foil after 15 minutes to prevent overbrowning.
