I haven't made this in ages and I don't know why! My mother and grandmother used to make this meatloaf. I even have the original matchbook with the recipe on it , yes, recipes on matchbooks!!! This recipe is really good as is. I sometimes add a little chopped green pepper. Usually have it with a baked potato and spinach or green beans....I put the sauce on the baked potato... It's also great for cold meatloaf sandwiches with a smear of mustard....YUM, comfort food and lots of memories!
kathysmith7I have this recipe from a book that has all recipes from the backs of jars ,boxes and cans it's a really good book I l have been making this meatloaf for 14 years my husband and kids love it.
new-cook-748cb8I grew up eating this recipe. I have my mom's Hunt's cookbook that it came from. By far the best meatloaf sauce ever. I recommend increasing the amount of the sauce in the pan by about 50% so you have extra.
dpalmern5n6t1Great meatloaf. I have tried many different meatloaf recipes and this is my fave. It comes out tasty every time.
BronwenOSimple to make from a not so well stocked kitchen and my grandaughter ate it. I was forced to make a couple substitutions ie. 1 tbsp white sugar instead of brown, 2 eggs, and 3/4 cup dry breadcrumbs. Also pureed the onions which my grandaughter says she hates (if she can see them).
