1 jumbo or other stock cube

Salt

300 g bacon thinly sliced and chopped

3 tbsp butter

1 head savoy cabbage finely chopped

4 carrots - peeled and finely grated

1 onion finely chopped

scotch bonnet pepper to taste finely chopped

8 sprigs of thyme

Ground black pepper
