Italian-Mexican Cilantro Salad

Oh-my-god-this-is-so-good!!! I cannot even tell you how good this was! :) I go to this local Mexican taco joint that makes tacos with whatever meat you want (steak for me) and a BUNCH of fresh cilantro on top and they give you sliced limes to squeeze over it. I usually add the refried beans and rice and verde salsa on top, but it's actually meant so you could eat the tacos just like that. Aaaanyway, that's what inspired my salad. I LOVE IT, it smells heavenly, and I am definitely having it again soon. :D

Ingredients

3 Organic Romaine Hearts rinsed and torn--NOT CUT

1 bunch Fresh Cilantro rinse and clip stems, leave as is--don't chop

1/2 cup "La Choy" chow mein noodles (per Romaine Heart)

1/2 cup Italian five-cheese shredded, (per Romaine Heart)

1/2 cup Homestyle natural grated parmesan cheese (per Romaine Heart)

1/2 cup Creamy Caesar dressing (per Romaine Heart)

3 tbs "Oscar Mayer" chopped turkey bacon (per Romaine Heart)

2 tsp Lime Juice or 1 sliced whole lime (per Romaine Heart)

Directions

One bag of Romaine Hearts at the grocery store usually includes three hearts, which is why I've made this recipe as a three-serving salad, but I explain it as an immediate-plating dish: Rinse Romaine Hearts and tear apart with your hands into medium (bite-size) pieces. Arrange each heart on it's own plate...this depends on the size of your hearts of-course. ;D Lol Rinse and add about 5 STEMS of fresh cilantro to each salad (trim the excess stem to the leaves.) Trimming is for presentation only, it is not necessary. Make sure the cilantro is fresh and green. Add lime to each salad to your preference. If using preserved lime juice, use a steady stream over entirety of the salad for only 1-2 seconds. If using a sliced lime, slice into halves, about one for each salad. Add chow mein noodles, do not overwhelm as only a little crunch is necessary and more will negate the other flavors. Add Italian shredded five-cheese to lettuce to your preference, but don't overwhelm the lettuce, we'll add more later. Add chopped turkey bacon to the salad. Turkey bacon is much more healthy than pork bacon and adds a unique flavor, complimenting the cilantro and lime juice. Add the Creamy Caesar salad dressing (I use "Newman's Own", made with x-virgin olive oil) in an even circle in the lettuce. AGAIN, do not overwhelm, this is a strongly-flavored dressing. In the center of the circle of dressing, add All Natural grated Parmesan cheese and surround the outside of the dressing with a thin circle of the Italian five-cheese.

Oh no! Not the whole bunch...five stems of leaves for each salad!! I'm so sorry for the confusion in my recipe, but I'll bet that smelled good! Haha, you're welcome and thank-you for reviewing.

This was an excellent recipe! All my friends except for one really loved how it tasted except for one, who said that the cilantro was overpowering. It was a little strong but I thought it was FANTASTIC! In the future I might cut down on the cilantro to half a bunch. TY for sharing!

Of-course I love it! I made it and I promise I wouldn't have added it to BigOven to share with everyone if it wasn't simply amazing. :D Please rate and comment yourself! Now, everyone's taste buds are different, so it is possible that it won't appeal to you. If you have something to add, please don't hesitate!
