Jodie's southwest Shepherd's pie

This takes the traditional shepherds pie and adds a little southwest flair.

Ingredients

1 1/4 pounds

1 small, chopped

2 cloves minced

1/2 teaspoon

14 3/4 ounces

4 ounces chopped

2 tablespoons

2 2/3 cup

2 tablespoons

2 tablespoons

2 cups

1 1/2 cup shredded


Directions

Heat oven to 425. Spray a 8x8 casserole dish. In large skillet cook ground beef, onion and garlic. Stir in corn, green chills and pepper sauce. Transfer to 8x8 dish. In a saucepan bring water, butter and cream to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in potato flakes. Spoon over ground beef mixture. Bake 15 minutes. Top with cheese and bake additional 10 minutes until cheese is bubbly.
