Kufta with Tahini

Ingredients

1.5 KG finely minced kufta beef (2/3 veal 1/3 lamb)

5 large onions chopped into thick cylinders

5 medium potatoes chopped into thick cylinders

FOR TAHINI

1/2 cup Tahini

5 lemons

Water

5 tablespoons minced garlic

Salt and chilli flakes to taste


Directions

Fry onions and potatoes (separately) Knead kufta in baking tray until even, use water on palm of hands to even out Layer with cooked onions and potatoes Place in oven for around 30-45 mins or until beef is cooked FOR TAHINI pour tahini into bowl, add lemon, stir until thick Add water until desired thickness achieved (watery consistency) Add garlic, keep stirring Add salt and chilli flakes Taste should be strong garlicky/lemony Pour Tahini on top of beef and place in oven for 15 mins or until it thickens Broil until onions are nice brown colour
