Low Carb Ketchup

Diabetics want to keep their carb intake down but still enjoy a good burger with thick, rich ketchup. This version lets them do exactly that.

Ingredients

6 ounces tomato paste - 1 can

1/2 cup Water

1/4 cup Vinegar

5 teaspoons Splenda

1/4 teaspoon Onion powder

1 teaspoon Salt

1/8 teaspoon Allspice

1/8 teaspoon Ground cloves

1/8 teaspoon Cinnamon

1/8 teaspoon Garlic powder


Directions

Mix all ingredients well. No cooking is required although warming it for a bit will let the flavors meld more easily. Be sure to add the spices. They are important for that "ketchup" flavor. Makes 1 1/3 cups Made with granular Splenda: 1 tablespoon: 7 Calories; trace Fat; trace Protein; 2g Carbohydrate; trace Dietary Fiber; 2g Net Carbs
