Ingredients

1 lb Ground beef

1 can (12 oz) Cream of mushroom soup

1 bag Tater Tots


Directions

In glass baking dish, add 1 pound raw hamburger. Sprinkle with salt & pepper. Add soup and mix with the hamburger. Add Tater Tots to top as a single layer. Bake at 375F for 1 hour. Serve: with Ketchup, but of course! Optional: Top with shredded cheddar and bake an additional 5 minutes until melted.

very adaptable, can change it up anyway you want. I add cheddar cheese soup over the meat and cream of mushroom.

It was very good, but I agree with the others, in that the beef should be browned - and drained.

My son is the pickiest eater EVER and he LOVES this dish.... I browned and seasoned the meat (with some chopped onion, salt and pepper) before putting it in the oven with the tater tots. Don't forget the ketchup! :)

My kids wouldn't eat it, even with a layer of melted cheddar on top. I'm not giving up on the recipe though. Next time I might try browning the meat first. Maybe it was a texture thing...

Another version: add frozen veggies to meat and soup mixture. Smooth out in baking dish amd cover w/ shredded cheese then line up tots so dish is completely covered. Bake per directions on tot bag. This is how our family has been doing it for at least 35 years.
