Meat "Pot Pie"

Ingredients

2 Pie crusts

3 Tbsp Margarine

1/2 cup Onion chopped

1 Potato diced

1 Carrot chopped

1 cup Frozen Peas

1 lb Ground beef cooked

2 cups Beef broth

1/2 tsp Cinnamon

1/4 tsp Ground cloves

dash Allspice

1/2 tsp Kosher Salt

1/2 tsp Ground black pepper


Directions

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Roll pie crusts. Set aside. (Lightly pre-bake bottom crust.) Melt margarine in saucepan over medium heat. Saute onion. Add potato and carrot. Cook until tender, not brown. Season with cinnamon, cloves, allspice, salt and pepper. Sprinkle flour over mixture, then stir to blend. Add beef broth, peas and meat. Bring to boil. Transfer to pie dish. Add top pastry crust. Cut slits for steam and flute edges. Add egg wash. Place on baking sheet. Bake 30 minutes, until crust golden. Let sit 10 minutes before serving.

This is ok. It is dry sometimes.

Really liked how the spices worked in this. I used left-over venison in place of the beef. Kid & hubby gave thumbs up!
