2 7-oz cans Green Chili Salsa
4 tb Flour
Juices From Beef Roast
3 tb Vegetable shortening
4 ts Salt
5 lb Beef Roast * (reserve juice)
1 4-oz can Green Chilis Chopped
1/4 ts Garlic powder
3 Large Onions Chopped
1 ts Ground cumin
I have made this many times over the years. I make several versions of it. I make this version. I make a version that substitutes 5 lbs chicken breasts for the beef roast and chicken broth for the beef meat juices to make chicken fajitas, soft tacos and burritos. Finally, I also make a version using 6 lbs of ground beef in place of the roast beef for the best restaurant-quality taco meat filling I have ever had. We use it for everything: burritos, tacos, nachos, taquitos, taco salad, white chili (using the chicken version), soft tacos, and quesadillas. Main-dish, loaded nachos are the family's favorite use for this.
