Mia's tasty spaghetti & turkey meatballs

Ingredients

1 pkg wheat noodles

1 cup Onion chopped

6 cloves garlic chopped

1 Carrot shredded

1/2 cup red wine

2 tbsp tomato paste

2 tsp Italian seasoning

1 sprig rosemary 1 sprig thyme, 1 sprig parsley (all chopped) (or fresh herbs on

2 cans less sodium chopped tomatoes

1 lb extra lean ground turkey

1/4 cup ground flaxseed

1/4 cup oats

1 tsp italian seasoning

1 tsp seasoning salt

1/2 tsp ground red pepper

1/2 tsp red pepper flakes

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp garlic salt

1/3 cup onion chopped


Directions

cook pasta according to package directions (omit salt and oil) SAUCE Heat oil in saucepan add onion & garlic, saute' 5 min add carrot & red wine, bring to boil add tomato paste through chopped tomatoes, bring to boil, then reduce heat to simmer Meatballs mix all ingredients together and form into 12 balls, bake at 400 F for 25 minutes (until done in center) Mix sauce with noodles, top with 3 Turkeyballs, sprinkle with a small amount of part-skim shredded mozzarella or Parmesan cheese

I was so surprised with how well these turned out. I've made them twice now and me and my husband love them. They have quite a kick, so if you're not big on spicy food you may want to use less red pepper. Thanks for posting!
