Michigan Baked Oatmeal

Ingredients

1/2 c Dried cherries

1 lg Apple unpeeled and grated

1/4 c Brown sugar

2 c Old fashioned oats

4 c milk

1/2 ts Almond flavoring

1/2 c almonds Sliced


Directions

1.Preheat oven to 400o. 2.Coat 3-qt. casserole or baking pan with cooking spray. 3.In mixing bowl, combine all ingredients. 4.Transfer to baking dish. Sprinkle top with additional almonds. 5.Bake uncovered for 45 mintues. Serve hot. Variation: Omit almonds, almond flavoring and cherries. So good! I substituted almond milk for 2 cups of the milk and used dried cranberries because I didn't have dried cherries. I was too lazy to grate the apple, so I cut the apple in small chunks instead. For an extra special treat, we put whipped cream on top and sprinkled it all with cinnamon. Delish!
