Category: Appetizers

Cuisine: American

Ready in 30 minutes

Ingredients

1 1/2 c Italian Bread Crumbs

1/2 c Marinara Sauce

2 c Vegetable oil

1/2 lb Mozzarella Cheese

1/2 ts Salt

1/4 ts Pepper

2 Eggs

Directions

Slice the cheese in half. Then cut each half into quarters. Break the eggs into a shallow bowl and beat them lightly with a fork until blended. Pour the bread crumbs into another shallow bowl and mix with the salt and pepper. Dip the cheese into the eggs and then into the bread crumbs, turning to coat all sides. Repeat the process to add a second layer of crumbs. Let the cheese dry on a piece of wax paper for a minute or so while the oil heats. Pour the oil into a medium size saucepan and heat over high heat until it reaches 375. Fry the cheese for 1 to 2 minutes, until golden brown on all sides. While the cheese if frying, heat the marinara sauce. Serve the cheese cubes at once with the warm marinara sauce for dipping.
