1 fennel bulb quartered, fronds reserved for topping

¼ cup chopped shallot

4 cloves garlic minced

¼ cup Pernod or white wine

½ cup clam juice

Juice from ½ lemon

1 pound gold potatoes peeled and cut into chunks

4 cups chicken or vegetable stock

1 pound cod cut into pieces

½ cup heavy cream

Salt and pepper to taste

¼ cup fresh dill chopped, for topping

optional: Heavy cream for serving
