I made these and when they cooled they were hard as a rock

I made these and added a teaspoon of almond extract to the mix. I liked these cookies because they kept their shape and didn't spread out all over the place. I baked them on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet. They were delicious! I am keeping this recipe in my favorites.

I just made these cookies. I was short on brown sugar so I used 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1 cup white sugar. I also used crunchy peanut butter. I dropped them by teaspoons and yielded 4 dozen cookies exactly. My gas oven tends to cook hot, so I cooked them for only 7 minutes, just until the edges were golden brown, but they were still soft looking in the middle. These are hands-down the best cookies I have ever made. I usually struggle with getting cookies to turn out right, but these were perfect.
