Puerto Rican Sofrito

My late grandmother's recipe—authentic and oh-so flavorful, just as you've been searching for. 👵🍲 (Note) **Some items will have to be bought at a Latin market.

Ingredients

2 Bell pepper/green

1 Bell pepper/red

10 Ajies peppers

3 Plum tomatoes

4 Onions

4 Medium heads of garlic

25 Fresh Cilantro leaves

25 Recao leaves/ culantro

1 tablespoon Salt

1 tablespoon Black pepper


Directions

Seed and chop bell peppers, chop tomatoes, quarter onions, peel garlic. Put all ingredients in a food processor and pulse till Sofrito is thick but not over pulsed. Place in ice cube trays to freeze and transfer to ziplock bags for long term storage.
